Uploading Newly Created Plug-in on Your Word Press
Word press is commonly used by many bloggers today. Its plug-ins are extension to its features and tells you what more you can do with your word press blog.
The features and applications of the blogs are increased with the help of plug-ins. It is very simple to create your own plug-in on word press directory using SVN server.
The SVN directory is maintained by word press for synchronization and tracking plug-in. Here is how you can create a newly updated plug-in from SVN word press server.
In order to upload plug-in you will first require permission from word press team and who on approval will send you a SVN URL link to allow you to download plug-ins of your choice.
The approval for plug-in may take a week to ten days for the word press team to validate your plug-in. Your approval mail will contain a SVN link for your plug-in and then move ahead and follow the steps mentioned below:
- Firstly you will have to download the SVN client on your machine.
- The next thing is creating a new folder on the desktop. Right click it and go to the checkout option via menu.
- Now you will have 3 sub folders namely: tag, trunk and branch in your new folder.
- Paste your files like PHP, plug-in, readme, etc in the trunk folder.
- Return to your folder and right click on the original folder. Click commit from the menu.
- Now enter SVN link to the plug-in given by word press and sign in with your SVN ID and password.
- Now you can upload new files and the upload status is visible to you.
- Your word press blog would now have a new plug-in and it will be listed within few minutes of installing.
In case you are updating the plug-in already present on the SVN server of word press then you will have to check out the SVN server for files and then replace the trunk folder files with latest files.
