Monetise Your Blog With Sponsors
A blog is supposed to be original in its content – that is an unstated premise upon which a blog is built. Why would you want to have a blog that copies stuff from other sources on the net and pastes it at the right places? Rather, why would readers want to go through stuff that is not original?
Exceptions are always there to the rule and some exceptions are a good way to make money blogging. It is standard practice to site the sources of information on the blog, when data is copied from elsewhere. That practice has gone legitimate in inviting people to post on blogs and charging a fee for that. If you have a blog where you write on your niche and you have tried various avenues available for monetising your blog, if your blog has been in existence for a while now and you have regular readers coming to you for information, it might be worth a try to approach sponsors for your blog.
It could be similar to banner ads that are displayed on websites; however, a sponsored post or posts have a better chance of going in line with your blog’s theme. If you are a tech blog, you may approach some tech companies who want to sell their products or services on the net and let them use a section of your space for their write-ups.
The companies have a distinct advantage in being able to promote their brand and products through a blog that is more likely to have the right target audience visiting it – you run a tech blog and your visitors would mostly be tech followers or may be seeking advice of technical stuff. When you allot space for your sponsors to write or showcase their articles, your sponsors gain credibility that gets transferred on to them through you – as long as you remain selective on which sponsors to project.
For starters, you could charge a nominal rate and invite selected sponsors to post their articles alongside yours. This need not be on a “Pay-per-click” basis, as it could be on a mutual agreement that you strike with your sponsor for displaying their brand through your blog. If you have been in the business of writing long enough to have gained the trust of your readers, this might work out just right for you.
