How To Peek Inside Private Youtube Videos
If you are a frequent YouTube user you must have observed that when you check it as private it can only be seen by your own Google account. You have the choice of sharing it across selected YouTube users but in order to watch it; those users need to be signed in.
For example: It is a private video youtube.com/watch?v=FkTSUqPqsGE, there is nothing special about the video except for its private nature and hence you would see an error saying the video is private.
What is not private about these ‘Private’ Videos?
Even if the video is private you can still manage to see some of its frames even when the owner has not listed it in public videos. Well here is how you can do that. You can get the ID of any you tube video from its URL and replace it with FkTSUqPqsGE in the following links:
- http://i.ytimg.com/vi/FkTSUqPqsGE/1.jpg
- http://i.ytimg.com/vi/FkTSUqPqsGE/2.jpg
- http://i.ytimg.com/vi/FkTSUqPqsGE/3.jpg
The image 0.jpg is a 480×360 thumbnail image detailing an approximate central frame of the video whereas the images 1.jpg and 3.jpg are from the start and the end of the video respectively.
When you add a video on YouTube, it creates an image thumbnail of each and every video uploaded on it and these can be easily seen in frames.

I don’t want to see frames. I wanted to see the videos.
