Have You Heard about Docs.com?

Docs.com is a place where you can simply produce new office documents in your browser or upload existing ones and share them with Facebook friends and friends outside web. This service is precisely similar to Office Web Applications apart from the fact that it makes use of your Facebook account and not Windows Live ID.

At Microsoft the FUSE Labs team, which is accountable for Docs.com and other attractive projects is busy in implementing new mashups to Docs.com to make even more interesting to the Facebook users.

For example, they have produced a template known as Friends Chart that itself pulls information of your Facebook friends and shows them as editable charts in a spreadsheet. You get to see your friend mix by gender, age group and their present location.

Then there is Slideshow template that will assist you change any of your Facebook photo albums into a pleasant and animated photo slideshow like in PowerPoint .

These are few in-built samples but proceeding further I expect the FUSE Labs team can offer some sort of Google Application Script like functionality that will allow anyone write simple mashups on Facebook using Docs.com platform. That would be very interesting!

So have you tried Docs.com platform yet?
