Considerations for a Successful Blog

Successful-BlogThere are analysis – and then, there are more analysis. Sometimes, there are even more analysis! Tools are aplenty these days that you can count on delivering the results for you – well, delivering on the results that they promise to deliver. Consider Analytics, something that would give you all the statistics all day long and would keep you occupied full time deciphering stuff and interpreting what they mean. The question, however, remains about what makes your blog click.

Timing of Blogging has become an important consideration these days. Who visits your blog? At what time do they visit? Which time zone do they hail from? What would they be doing when they were browsing your blog alongside? How could you manage to catch their eyeballs with your next blog post?

Questions such as these and many more that are really nagging that you tend to get lost in the web – not in the world wide web that you would have got used to by now, anyway, but in the web of thoughts that you weave around yourself as you try to figure out what is it that makes some blogs a hit, while most other blogs invariably end up in a miss. The reality, however, is that there is no such strategy that would always guarantee you success.

There are doubts regarding when one should post on one’s blog, at what time of the day, to get the most attention. Would posting by the lunch time be fine? Or should it be towards the end of the day? Is it weekends or weekdays? Well, there may be some message for you in it if you are an ardent blogger who desperately tries to make it big. You may notice, for instance, that weekends do not get many hits (who would want to sit in front of a system on a weekend anyway?) while lunch time and the space that follows lunch time could be good windows to post fun stuff (fun for dessert!). Some calculate who comes to their sites from which part of what continent to decide how to target them.

Relax. You wouldn’t want to get lost, would you?  The secret to a successful blog lies very much in the content. Period. Quantity may not be the answer to most questions. If you can assure your readers freshness and quality, if you can stick to your schedules and remain predictable in your posts (in timing, not in content), and if you can be original and unique, you can, in most probability, be sure of regular following. With time, if you can be consistent, you become popular.

The result lies with the readers – it is the job at hand that is within your control. Keep Blogging!
