Basics of Blogging
Blogging may be easy and fun to do but one needs to know the right way to go about it. Following some simple pointers will make your blog stand out!
1. Avoid Copy-Paste: This is one of the biggest mistakes a blogger can make. You can use other websites to research material for your blog but you must write it in your own words. Avoid copying and pasting direct sentences or phrases from other websites onto your blog. This will make your blog lose credibility.
2. Most Blogs have the facility for you to upload a picture along with your article. However if you are not familiar and comfortable with Photoshop then don’t waste too much time in cropping and resizing the right image for your blog.
3. You can get Google to send you topic based ideas in your inbox through Google Alerts. Through this you get exposed to a larger spectrum of ideas and topics. You can choose whether you want the alerts as soon as the Google servers find them or on a daily or weekly basis.
Blogging Tools
Some of the tools you can use to make blogging simpler are
1. Feedblitz: This enables users to subscribe to the new posts in your blog via email. The users just need to enter their email and they will get a confirmatory email along with a daily update on any news posts in your blog. This ensures regular readership of your blog.
2. Blogger Mobile: This allows you to upload content and to blog via your mobile. With the leaps in technology these days most people want to blog even while on the move. This is the ideal application for that.
3. Google AdSense and AdWords: While you are blogging it makes sense to try and earn out of it. Google’s AdSense application helps you to generate online income.
4. Blogexplosion: This is particularly useful for new bloggers as this gets confirmed traffic on your blog. The concept is that for every two blogs you visit, you get one visitor to your blog.
There can be an endless list of tools for bloggers but experiment with each tool to figure out which ones suit you and your blog the most.
