Achieving Success with Blogs Part 3 – Blog Ideas
This is the third part in the series on Achieving success with blogs. The previous two parts of this blog post can be found at Part 1 and Part 2. In the last two parts of this series, we saw the basics of how to start a blog, how blogging is similar to conventional business in every aspect and how it is important to choose the right blog theme.
When you have chosen your blog theme, you have effectively finalized on your product that you want to manufacture. Now, you may move on to the actual production process.
As in business, you cannot expect revenue or profitability the moment you decide to produce your product. When you produce your product, you have only taken the first step in the long manufacturing process. And even before you produce your product, you should finalize on the raw materials that you need to produce your product – products cannot be produced from thin air and you need to make sure that you have the right raw materials to make the best products.
And to get the best raw materials, you need to short-list the right suppliers of raw materials. The entire sequence of producing the best product follows when you have finalized on the source of raw materials.
Similarly, in blogging, your raw materials are ideas. Without your blog ideas, you cannot produce a single blog post. Since you are a serious blogger, you would probably not be concerned about the art of plagiarism, which is the easiest way to spoil your blog. In blogging, originality counts. People would visit your blog for what it is – if it were “inspired” from some other blog, people would rather go to the original source of it.
Since you have chosen your blog theme in line with your expertise and passion, you would not have any problem with the source of raw materials. However, even if you have all the expertise to produce blog posts on your own, you cannot possibly keep writing for ever.
Your knowledge may be good enough to produce the first few blog posts, but to persevere and sustain in the long run, you need sources of blog ideas, your suppliers of raw materials.
In the next post in our series on blog tips, we would see what it takes to finalize the sources of raw materials for your blog, from where you could get those steady streams of ideas for consistent blogging.
